Lodgic Everyday Community announced its official date to close its Champaign business.
The company provided a statement on Monday about the last day of their childcare services and workplace business in Champaign will be on Friday, March 31, 2023. Before that decision, they had already closed their restaurant, Everyday Kitchen, last December.
Lodgic Everyday Community refused to respond to the closure issues. One of the Champaign members of Lodgic Everyday Community felt the company made a sudden decision.
"Well, they gave us an email probably on February 3rd, (it) was an email saying that they're looking for buyers and that if they couldn't find one, they'd be closing on March 31st," said Amie Oppenheim, a member of Lodgic Workplace. "But they haven't said anything else until I saw it on the news a couple of days ago. And then this morning (February 22nd, 2023). They sent this email saying they're closing."
Ms. Oppenheim also said the workplace closure would affect her daily life," It's disappointing. I can't afford an office space. And I actually like being someplace where there are a lot of people. If I go to an office by myself. It's going to be very lonely. But I just can't afford it."
At the end of the interview, she mentioned it was strange that Lodgic Workplace Champaign hired a new staff recently. A new staff began his work on February 20, while the store will be closed on March 31.
The company has been looking for buyers for the workplace. The property selling information is now listed in the Realtor Jill Guth and Associates. Lodgic Everyday Community is located at 1807 S. Neil St with 28,000+ square feet. They are now publicly for sale for $4.5 million, with a minimum earnest money deposit of $100,000.
Lodgic Everyday Community set up its business in Champaign in the fall of 2018.
If you are a Lodgic Workplace or Lodgic Kid Camps member and want to cancel your membership before the end of March, please notify the company by Tuesday, February 28th, 2023, allowing them to prorate your billing cycle for the number of days on-site.
