Governor Pritzker and President Biden have announced that any emergency declarations related to Covid-19 will expire by May eleventh.Including the public health emergency and national emergency declaration.
The public health emergency right now requires health insurers to reimburse users for up to eight antigen tests a month. It's ending means that federal insurers will get to decide whether to reimburse for those tests or not. Throughout the university and community we've begun to see COVID testing facilities slowly shut down. Robert Davies, Director of Planning and Research at the Champaign-Urbana Public Health District stated that he does not believe that the proclamation will have much of an effect on the districts day to day operation, but will change health care coverage.
Updates on the transition will be available on the champaign public health district website.
